Dr. Robert A. Brown is Independent Director of the Company. Dr. Brown has served as President of Boston University since September 2005. Dr. Brown previously was provost and professor of chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from July 1998 through July 2005. Dr. Brown is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering and a former member of the Presidents Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. He is a trustee of the University Research Association, and is a member of the Council on Competitiveness. Dr. Brown is chairman of the Academic Research Council of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Singapore and also serves on the Research Innovation and Enterprise Council chaired by the Prime Minister of Singapore. Dr. Brown served as a Director of DuPont from 2007 until the effective date of the Merger Transaction when he became a Director of DowDuPont. since 2007.
