Dr. Manfred Bischoff was Independent Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Daimler AG since April 4, 2007. He joined the Companys Supervisory Board in April 12, 2006. He is Chairman of the Committee pursuant to Section 27 Subsection 3 of the German Codetermination Act, Presidential Committee and Nomination Committee. In addition to his duties at the Company, he acts as Member of the Shareholders Committee at SMS Holding GmbH. In 1976, Dr. Bischoff joined DaimlerBenz AG as Project Coordinator for the alliance with SteyrDaimlerPuch, with special responsibility for the crosscountry vehicle MercedesBenz GClass. In 1981, he was given responsibility for equity investments, mergers acquisitions in the Finance Department where he became Departmental Head in 1985. In 1988, he joined the Board of Management of MercedesBenz do Brasil as Chief Financial Officer. In 1989, he was appointed to the Management Board of Deutsche Aerospace as Chief Financial Officer and in 1995 became Chairman of the Management Board of DaimlerBenz Aerospace and Member of the Management Board of DaimlerBenz AG. Following the establishment of the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company in 2000, Dr. Bischoff became its Chairman. On December 15, 2003, he stepped down from the Management Board of DaimlerChrysler AG. On April 5, 2007, he stepped down from his offices at EADS

Bischoff holds Master?s degree in Economics from RuprechtKarlsUniversitaet Heidelberg. He also graduated in Law from Eberhard Karls Universitaet Tuebingen. In 1973, he obtained Doctorate in Philosophy majoring in Economics from RuprechtKarlsUniversitaet Heidelberg. Between 1968 and 1976, he served as Assistant at the Alfred Weber Institute, at the RuprechtKarlsUniversitaet Heidelberg.
