Dr. Martine A. Rothblatt, Ph.D. J.D. is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer of the Company. She became our Chairman and CoChief Executive Officer. She was promoted to her current role as Chairman and soul CEO in June 2016. Prior to founding United Therapeutics, she founded and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sirius XM Satellite Radio. She is a coinventor on six of our patents pertaining to treprostinil. In 2014, Dr. Rothblatt was appointed to the Committee of Science, Technology and Law of the National Research Council. She has served as a United Therapeutics director since 1996 since 2016.
